Step-by-Step Guide
Go to Google Takeout
Visit takeout.google.com and sign in with your Google account. This is Google's official tool for exporting your data.
Select only "Saved"
Click "Deselect all" at the top of the page to uncheck everything. Then scroll down and find "Saved" (it's alphabetically sorted) and check only that box.
Create and download your export
Click "Next step" at the bottom. Choose "Send download link via email" and click "Create export". Wait for the email (usually 1-5 minutes), then download the ZIP file.
Find your file
Extract the downloaded ZIP file. Navigate to the "Saved" folder inside. Look for either your list's CSV file (named after your list) or "Saved Places.json" for all starred places.
Upload to EzyRoute
Go back to the creator application and drag-and-drop your file into the upload area. We'll automatically parse all your places.
Common Questions
I don't see my list in the export
Make sure you've saved the list in Google Maps before exporting. Only lists that exist in your "Saved" section will appear in the export.
The export is taking too long
Google Takeout can sometimes take up to 24 hours for large exports. If you only selected "Saved", it should be ready within minutes. Try refreshing your email.
My file says 0 places found
Make sure you're uploading the correct file. The file should be from the "Saved" folder in your export, not the root of the ZIP file.
Can I use a shared Google Maps link instead?
Currently, we only support file uploads from Google Takeout. This ensures we get complete data with coordinates for all your places.
Ready to upload your places?
Head back to the application and upload your exported file.
